On Wednesday I had once again canceled the snowshoe to the Fawn Hollow Loop because of high winds that were predicted to start around 11 AM.  When 7 hikers showed up at Rite Aid, we experienced quite a bit of wind.  After driving to the trailhead, we got out and were surprised there was no wind.  It was 37° as we started up from the Toothpick Trailhead.

We made our way along the Toothpick trail then turned left on Catwalk.  We went up to Four Corners then headed down Forest Road 2060.  We turned up Catapiller and then on Lewis Loop- Gyre.

There was a bench where we took our group photo, but continued down to get out of the winds for lunch.

We finished Lewis Loop and were on Catapiller.  I kept going for a bit before I realized we needed to connect back on Toothpick.  We could really see a lot of downed trees that had been cut by someone doing trail maintenance.   We were all appreciative.

We finished our hike and had gone 7.53 miles with 1,667 feet of elevation gain.
